Privacy Notice

Who I am. I'm Anna Bornman, a sole-trader piano teacher based in Longworth, Oxfordshire. I'm the data controller for the information below, meaning I decide how it's used. Contact me at anna@longworthstudio with any questions.

What I collect. When you enquire about or book lessons, I collect the parent/guardian's name, email, and phone number, plus the student's name, age, and current piano level. If you pay for lessons, I keep basic payment records (amounts and dates, not full card details).

Why, and on what basis. I use this to arrange and manage lessons, communicate about scheduling, and take payment, which is necessary to deliver the lessons. Anything beyond that, like occasional availability updates, is sent only with your consent, and you can opt out any time.
Keeping your information secure. I take reasonable steps to protect your information — for example, storing it on password-protected devices and accounts, and not sharing it beyond what's needed to arrange and run your lessons.

Who else sees it. I don't sell or share your data for marketing. It may pass through the services I use to run the business (email provider, website host), who process it only on my instructions. It isn't transferred outside the UK.

How long I keep it. I retain contact and lesson records for as long as your child is a student, and for two years afterwards, then delete it.

Your rights. You can ask to see what I hold, correct it, have it deleted, or object to its use, simply contact me directly. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) if you're unhappy with how your data's handled.

Testimonials. I only publish a testimonial with explicit permission, and you can ask me to remove it at any time.
